The Harmonized Index of Consumer
Prices in the European Union, for July, was in line with consensus by declining
50 basis points on a month over month basis.
Eurozone’s merchandise trade
report showed the region surplus was marginally lower than expected in June,
14.9bn Vs 15.0bn.
Housing starts in the US was
lower than expected for July, 896m Vs 900m.
The University of Michigan
consumer sentiment report came in below consensus. According to Econoday.com,
this was the lowest reading since April of this year, 80.0 Vs 85.5.
Manufacturing sales in Canada
declined unexpectedly for June, -50bps Vs 30bps.
