Overnight, the Bank of Japan
released their monetary policy statement, which was uneventful. The asset
program was left unchanged at an annual pace of 50 trillion Yen. The key rate
was left at 0.1%. And commentary was not indicative of any massive change in
the foreseeable future to central banking polices in Japan.
The US economic calendar was dead
for two days in a row now. There was a 3 year note and 4 week bill auction in
the afternoon. The rest of the reports
that were released in the US did not warrant much attention.
Overseas in the UK, industrial
production in April was in line with consensus by coming in flat for the month.
