The global economic calendar will
start off in Switzerland this morning, with UBS’s consumption index for May.
The figure was unchanged from April’s reading, which was 1.46.
First quarter GDP in France
contracted as expected, on a quarterly basis, (-0.2%) Vs (-0.2%)
First quarter GDP in the US
missed economists’ expectations by a wide margin on a quarterly basis, 1.8% Vs
2.4%. the personal consumption component of GDP gave the poorest reading out of
the components that creates the headline number.
The trade surplus in New Zealand
came in significantly lower than expected, $71m Vs $376m.
