The monetary policy committee of
the Bank of England came released the minutes from their most recent meeting
which showed unanimity among committee members regarding the banks key rates
and asset purchase program. They all voted yes to leave it unchanged.
Furthermore in the UK, the
International Labor Organization released their version of the jobs reports for
June. The joblessness decreased in the country by 21k versus consensus of 9.3k.
Heading across the Atlantic ocean
to the US, housing starts in June came in lower than expected, with multifamily
units dragging the headline figure lower, 836k versus consensus of 951k.
The Bank of Canada made their
first monetary policy announcement with Stephen Poloz, the newly elected
governor for the bank. The bank left their key rates unchanged.
