Monday’s session started off with
a disappointing read on second quarter GDP from Japan. On an annualized basis
GDP grew 2.6%, consensus was calling for GDP to grow by 3.6%.
The US treasury budget for July,
which is a monthly account of the federal government’s budget surplus or
deficit, missed consensus by a small margin, -97.6bn Vs -96.0bn.
Japan’s machine orders report was
better than expected in June on a month over month basis, -2.7% Vs -7.5%.
